Although most salamanders have four legs, the aquatic salamander shown below resembles an eel. It lacks hind limbs and has very tiny forelimbs. Propose a hypothesis to explain how limbless salamanders evolved according to Darwin’s theory ofnatural selection..

Fearless Fosdick asked: Mammary glands of elephants are between their front legs, just as the mammary glands of two legged mammals are between their arms.
Are there other four legged animals with mammary glands between their front legs?
Interesting to learn that hyraxes are related to elephants. I find that they have two nipples between front legs and four more behind these.

My friends and I are arguing whether it’s a Great Dane or a St. Bernard or an Irish Wolfhound. Correct us if there are any breeds that are generally bigger/larger. I DON’T mean fattest, but largest and tallest by standing up and with four legs on the ground.

I was watching this sequence of 19th century photographs of an American bison galloping, and it got me wondering… when four-legged animals such as bison and horses gallop, do their front legs or their hind legs touch the ground first?
