    Man – As a baby, they crawl on all fours. As an adult, they walk on two legs. When they get old, they use a cane.

    4 legs in the morning = baby crawling

    2 legs at noon = child and early and mid – adulthood

    3 legs in the evening = late adulthood (senior citzen) with a cane

    The riddle is based on the analogy of human life and a day’s cycle.
