All insects have six legs. You may be thinking of a centipede, milipede, or some other kind of small creature.

You’re looking in the wrong categories on the internet.
It is NOT an insect. Insects have only 6 legs.
It is either a Centipede or a Millipede.
Millipedes are harmless and eat vegetation, and have small mandibles (mouth parts). They can get large with a diameter the size of a quarter. They are often black or dark brown or even dark red. Some species are even kept as pets.
Centipedes, on the other hand, can get quit large and can inflict painful bites and some in the tropics are venomous. They cannot kill a human, but can make you pretty sick. They feed on other small animals, like insects and others feed on vegetation. Some species are very small, only 3/4″ long. They are usually yellowish-tan in color with a orange head and tail. They also have two long appendages protruding from the tail end.
